Year 7 work with year 5
On Tuesday and Friday morning this week, four year 7 students helped Miss Neal with a year 5 art project at Ellison Boulters Primary School in Scothern. Their termly topic is WW2 and their Headteacher was keen for some art work to go up in their new part of their school building.
Year 5's designs were collated and presented as four strong war related images which also linked to the four school houses - air, water, earth and fire. The strap lines on each piece linked strongly to their school ethos and all four piece of art were created using corrugated card relief work. Three year 5 students at a time took part in creating parts of each canvas supervised by a year 7 Pembroke students and guided by Miss Neal as and when. The year 5's loved the project and were able to quiz year 7 all about life at Pembroke. They are very excited to have their art work spray painted in the house colours and delivered back for display next week. They also can't wait to come to our year 5 taster day on 28th March either!
The work we are doing with our primary schools is immense and having a really positive impact on all students, staff and parents involved.
